Annual fellowships to promote the understanding of Black Appalachian storytelling traditions that embody the history, heritage, and culture of the region. This initiative aims to elevate the voices of Black storytellers and preserve the rich narrative traditions that reflect the experiences and contributions of Black communities in Appalachia. Support aims to enrich the cultural landscape, promote racial equity, and ensure that the unique perspectives and histories of Black Appalachians are recognized and celebrated.
